    GVA completes sale of Great Charles Street portfolio

    The Midlands office of leading property adviser GVA has completed the sale of the Great Charles Street Estate in Birmingham city centre to Dunedin Property Asset Management and Angelo Gordon. While the sale price is confidential, it is understood to be over the asking terms of £20 million.  GVA acted for Aviva Investors in the sale, with Dunedin and Angelo Gordon represented by LSH Birmingham. Situated on an island site adjacent to the Paradise development, the portfolio comprises seven buildings, including Civic House, Charles House, Lombard House, Galbraith House, Beaufort House, Lionel House and 154/155 Great Charles Street.     Confirmation that construction of Birmingham’s most anticipated new development scheme – the transformation of 17 acres at Paradise Circus in the heart of the city centre - will start on site in January 2015 was made yesterday, 15th December 2014. The £500m development is being brought forward through the joint venture company, Paradise Circus Limited Partnership (PCLP), a partnership between Birmingham City Council and BT Pension Scheme, managed by Hermes Real Estate with Argent as development manager.     Property consultants Alder King and GVA have secured Bristol’s second largest office deal of 2014 after Parsons Brinkerhoff, one of the world's leading planning, engineering, and program and construction management organisations, took 17,000 sq ft of accommodation at Kings Orchard, a landmark office building overlooking Bristol’s floating harbour.     Two Birmingham industrial estates snapped up for £2.5m

    Two Birmingham industrial estates have been snapped up by a national property and land firm for around £2.5million. Christchurch Property has acquired the newly renamed Alexandra Trading Estate, in Handsworth, and Western Business Park, both close to Birmingham City Centre. The company was assisted in both purchases by commercial property agents Shortland Penn + Moore, which has offices in Birmingham and Coventry. On Alexandra Trading Estate, Christchurch bought from the receivers 13 units – including one office – on what was previously known as Black Business in Birmingham. Colliers acted for the receivers.
