John Truslove clinches Redditch’s biggest office let in years

Commercial property agents John Truslove have clinched one of the biggest office lettings in Redditch in the last ten years.

Swiss packaging machine manufacturer Bobst Group has announced a major expansion in Redditch and is taking more than 10,000 sq ft in Ravensbank House at North Moons Moat.

The two-storey premises are earmarked for a showroom and offices, with refurbishment already under way.
It is hoped staff will start moving in around the end of October.

The international business, which is the world’s leading supplier of machinery and services to packaging manufacturers in the folding carton, corrugated board and flexible material industries, already has a presence in Redditch, a 6,000 sq ft unit at Broad Ground Road, Lakeside, which it will be retaining as a spare parts and storage centre.

It currently employs 63 staff in the area.

Bobst UK & Ireland managing director Neil Jones said: “It is a big expansion for our arm of the business.
“We are looking to develop our service side and these new premises fit into that business plan. It will offer better facilities for staff and customers. The move is likely to create some extra jobs going forward.”

The group is taking roughly threequarters of Ravensbank House on a ten year lease.

John Truslove partner Ian Parker said: “This is the largest letting in Redditch for many years.

“It is terrific news for the town and shows how it remains a magnet for manufacturers and distributors because of its wonderful communications at the centre of England.”

John Truslove acted for landlords SSE Audio Group, as did lawyers HCB. Joint agents were KWB.
It means Ravensbank House is now fully let.

Founded in 1890 by Joseph Bobst, and with its headquarters just outside Lausanne, Bobst has a presence in more than 50 countries, runs 11 production facilities in eight countries and employs over 5,000 people around the world.

The firm recorded a consolidated turnover of approximately £840 million for the year ended December 31, 2011.
