Rapleys appoints new Senior Associate

Rapleys is delighted to announce that it has appointed Graham Smith as Senior Associate to augment its Valuation Services.

Graham, who will be based at Rapleys’ Huntingdon office, is an experienced RICS Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer and has over thirty years’ experience in the property and surveying sector. He will take a lead role in valuations and will be responsible for business development in Cambridge as well as maintaining the service provision throughout the East of England and the East Midlands.

In his previous role as Director at Januarys and Carter Jonas, Graham was responsible for writing valuations for national banks and lenders for secured lending on property across the East of England. In addition, valuations for asset management, accounting and increasingly new and potential development sites have been within his remit.

Graham said: “My new role at Rapleys is an exciting challenge. I look forward to raising the profile of the practice across the East of England in dedicated services. I will be working hard to ensure the region’s banks and lenders can have a dedicated quality service backed by a leading national practice. The extraordinary demand in the property market for valuation services has not been seen since the start of the economic downturn. Valuers now have a tremendous responsibility for providing valuations that lenders can have complete confidence in. Confirmed by the RICS under its Valuer Registration Scheme and backed by the strength and depth of Rapleys, I intend to ensure standards are maintained at a high level.”

Rachel Saint, Partner and Head of Lease Consultancy at Rapleys commented: “I am delighted that Graham has joined us and that he is able to complement the valuation specialists within Rapleys, having such a depth of experience in the valuation sector. His experience will be a significant asset to the business.”
