Real Estate Investors has announced a major city centre letting to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).
The AIM-listed property investment company has let the entire fifth floor at 85-98 Colmore Row, totalling 3,716 sq ft.
The offices will be the Birmingham Regional Centre of the RCSEd, from which membership services will be delivered to its Fellows and Members throughout England and Wales. Members, Fellows and outside organisations will be able to use the offices for events or training seminars.
RCSEd chief executive Alison Rooney said: “With some 78 per cent of our UK membership based outwith Scotland, the majority of whom are located within reasonable travel distance of the Midlands, it made sense to locate our regional centre of operations in Birmingham.
“We are delighted to have found the right premises in such a prestigious part of Birmingham and Real Estate Investors has been instrumental in helping us to realise this strategic development for our members on Colmore Row, one of central Birmingham’s principal business locations.”
REI senior asset manager Ian Clark said they had worked closely with Marketing Birmingham and Business Birmingham to bring the RCSEd to the city.
“This is an important win both for Birmingham and REI. We have secured a prestigious organisation for the city and their own research showed them that Birmingham really is at the heart of the UK, both for business and professional organisations such as the RCSEd,” he said.
RCSEd has taken a ten year term at 85-89 Colmore Row.
The property is a Grade II listed building in a prime position in Birmingham’s city centre, situated on the junction with Newhall Street. Existing tenants include Malcolm Hollis LLP, DTE Leonard Curtis, Fleet Milne Residential, BDP, Chubb Insurance and global insurance group Generali.
