Specialist developer Charterpoint Group has confirmed a deal with Sainsbury’s to include a convenience store at its mixed-use development at Edwalton near Nottingham.
Sainsbury’s will operate the store, which is part of a plot of land on the corner of Rose Way and Melton Road.
Charterpoint has masterminded development of the whole site, which also includes a retirement apartment scheme being built by Vistry Group for not-for-profit housing provider Anchor, who will operate the apartments.
Adrian Goose, Charterpoint Group CEO said: “We are excited that a new Sainsbury’s Local is coming to Edwalton. Sainsbury’s has a reputation for providing excellent local retail facilities and we are very pleased to have secured them as a tenant for our scheme.”
Charterpoint is delivering the new store and has appointed Derby-based Davlyn Construction to build the retail unit, with a start on site expected in late April.
Based close to the development site, in Wheatcroft Business Park, Edwalton, Charterpoint is a senior living and mixed-use specialist developer, which operates across the UK.
