Birmingham and Solihull-based commercial property advisory firm Shepherd Commercial has strengthened its senior leadership team with the promotion of Ross Bendall to Director.

Ross, who joined the firm as Associate Director in 2024, now joins existing directors Kaine Arkinson and Chris Peutherer in overseeing a growing portfolio of agency, management and valuation instructions across the Midlands.

The appointment comes during a sustained period of growth for the West Midlands-based firm, which brought 575,000 sq ft of commercial space to market last year and expanded into larger headquarters in Solihull as it marked its 20th anniversary. The firm also operates from Eleven Brindleyplace in Birmingham city centre.

Ross said: “I am delighted to take on the role of Director at Shepherd Commercial. Since joining the firm, I have been impressed by the depth of expertise within the team and the quality of our client relationships.

“Alongside Kaine and Chris, I look forward to continuing to provide longstanding and new clients with clear, commercially focused advice and the highest standards of professionalism across the commercial property sector.”

Ross qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1992 and brings more than 30 years’ experience in commercial property to the role.

Having acted for major developers and occupiers across acquisitions, disposals, sales and lettings, he has an extensive background across office, industrial and retail sectors.

Shepherd Commercial is an independent firm of chartered surveyors and commercial property consultants, providing agency, management, valuation and professional services throughout the Midlands.

The firm advises clients with a long-term focus on risk management, liquidity and lifecycle value across individual assets and property portfolios.

Managing Director Kaine Arkinson said: “Ross brings considerable experience and market insight to our board. His promotion reflects both his contribution since joining the firm and our continued commitment to delivering director-led, strategic advice to our clients.

“As we enter our third decade in business, strengthening our leadership team ensures we continue to support clients across all kinds of commercial property instructions throughout the region with the best possible advice in an increasingly complex and competitive market.”
