Deal done on depot letting east of Peterborough

BTG Eddisons has confirmed the letting of depot premises in Whittlesey, four miles east of Peterborough on the A605, to a company who has relocated from Alconbury, to the south of the city, on taking up the new lease.

The site and premises on Stonald Road in the Fenland town of Whittlesey was formerly the trading location of a local haulage company. The built accommodation including main warehouse, workshop, offices and ancillary buildings totals 17,288 sq ft plus storage yard all within a fenced and gated site of just under 1.6 acres.

On the western fringe of Whittlesey the Stonald Road location has quick access to the A605 and onwards to the A1(M) north and south, and also the A15 through Lincolnshire and the A47 to Leicestershire in one direction and East Anglia to the east.

According to Julian Welch of BTG Eddisons, who conducted the letting instruction on behalf of the landlord, the location and depot-style character of the premises were always going to appeal to an operator in a similar industrial sector to its previous tenant.

He added, “While not the most high profile of locations, we find that Fenland towns such as Whittlesey – which is well positioned in relation to Peterborough and the area’s wider road network – often meet the needs of the region’s indigenous occupiers familiar with north Cambridgeshire or national operators who need a near-Peterborough presence.”
