Padrock announces 17,700 sq ft letting to create ‘London’s largest tool superstore’

Specialist logistics developer Padrock has let a 17,700 sq ft unit at its £95m, Grade A Dagenham Logistics Hub development on an eight-year lease to destination tool trade retailer ITS.

According to ITS, the new two-floor outlet, which is due to open in April, will be London’s largest tool superstore and provides the business with a new flagship trade counter and warehouse facility.

Dagenham Logistics Hub is strategically located between the A12 and A13 East London arterial roads while Dagenham East Underground station is 0.6 miles away. The development comprises 14 new leasehold industrial and warehouse units ranging from 6,550 sq ft to 34,825 sq ft.

Harlow-headquartered ITS said it chose the site due to its best-in-class specification and strong sustainability credentials, with the scheme’s future-proofed design a key consideration.

All the units at the development have BREEAM ‘Excellent’ and EPC ‘A+’ ratings and feature photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points and low air permeability design.

Established in 1979, ITS offers more than 29,000 products with a next-day delivery service from its Harlow, Walthamstow, Chelmsford, Dagenham and Luton superstores, with the latter due to open in the next two weeks.

Elliott Williams, Spokesperson for ITS, said: “The opening of our Dagenham superstore marks a major milestone for ITS and underlines our continued investment in London and the wider region.

“At 17,700 sq ft, this destination branch will give trade professionals and DIY customers access to an unrivalled product range, increased stock availability and a purpose-built trade counter designed to deliver a truly first-class retail experience.

“Dagenham Logistics Hub stood out for its prime position within East London, high-quality specification and strong sustainability credentials.

“The scheme aligns perfectly with our long-term growth strategy and our commitment to operating from modern, future-ready facilities.”

Headquartered in London, Padrock is a developer and asset manager which specialises in logistics and light-industrial assets across the UK and Europe.

Alongside Dagenham Logistics Hub, the company’s UK portfolio comprises Leyton Logistics Hub in east London, Erith Logistics Hub in Erith, south east London, and Hertford Logistics Hub in Hertford.

Jamie Young, investment and development manager at Padrock, said: “ITS is an outstanding retail business, so we are very pleased to welcome the company to Dagenham Logistics Hub.

“The company’s flagship facility reinforces our scheme as a destination trade retail cluster, aligning with our sustainability-led vision and underpinning a collaborative trade and logistics hub.

“This letting reflects the continued depth of demand we see from both trade and last-mile occupiers for Grade A sustainable space with excellent connectivity within the M25.

“Dagenham Logistics Hub provides all of this and more which, in turn, continues to drive significant occupier interest in the remaining units.”
