The Birmingham office of Clarke Willmott LLP partnered up with Lloyds Bank to host a well-attended seminar on how construction issues can impact on secured lending.

Taking place at the firm’s Edmund Street offices the event saw industry leaders from the construction, property and banking and finance sectors come together to discuss challenges and share ideas.

Leading the event was Clarke Willmott Partner in the Construction team, Peter McHugh, who talked about the challenges of delivering a project on time, on budget and of a good quality.

Fiona Rendell, a Partner in Clarke Willmott’s Commercial Property team, said: “It was great to jointly host such a successful event bringing together so many different people across the construction, property and finance industries.

“As well as hearing from Peter McHugh, Partner Hayley Steel also explored some key elements of what a construction package should include so that the bank and its customers can work together to agree a suite of construction documents to protect all parties.

“We look forward to hosting more similar events alongside Lloyds Bank in the future.”

The event was attended by clients of both firms as well as other interested businesses and included a networking lunch followed by the in-depth seminar.

Clarke Willmott boasts a large Construction team which gives advice on all aspects of construction law in both non-contentious and contentious matters.
