Sorbon Estates agrees lease with online retailer Sportsbikeshop

Sorbon Estates has announced that it has agreed a 10-year lease with motorbike clothing retailer, Sportsbikeshop. The new tenant now occupies Unit 1C, a 4,882 sq ft retail warehouse unit at Reading Link Retail Park, which was previously let to value retailer Poundworld.

Sportsbikeshop is a retailer specialising in the sale of motorcycle helmets, clothing, parts, and accessories. Set up by James Mitchell in 2005, the online business was acquired by private equity investor Equistone Partners Europe in 2015.

Conveniently located at the junction of the A33 and Rose Kiln Lane, the retail park is 0.3 miles away from Reading town centre. Other tenants of the retail park include Matalan, Home Bargains, The Food Warehouse by Iceland, Bensons Beds, and Magnet. This letting with Sportsbikeshop takes the park back to 100 percent occupancy.

Matthew Chamberlain, Operations Manager at Sportsbikeshop, said: “We’re excited to have secured a 10-year lease at Reading Link Retail Park. We currently have established stores in Leeds, Boston and Milton Keynes, and this store provides us with the opportunity to tap into the vast market in the south east of England.”

Ed Davidson, Senior Leasing Manager at Sorbon Estates, said: “We’re delighted to have signed a deal with Sportsbikeshop, a very strong business, which has grown sustainably over the past 15 years. It is a welcome addition to our portfolio, complementing the existing tenant mix at Reading Link Retail Park”.

Sorbon Estates was advised on the deal by Curson Sowerby.
