New Screwfix branch opens in Alcester

Screwfix has opened a new branch in Alcester, creating ten new jobs, after working with property agency John Truslove to secure the lease on a unit at the Arden Business Centre.

Ben Truslove, joint managing director of John Truslove, said: “We are delighted to have secured such a strong tenant for the owners, and on good terms. It can only add value to what is already a strong property, offering good quality accommodation in a popular area.

“I am sure it will prove a highly successful new branch for Screwfix. This underlines the continuing attractions of this area for a wide range of businesses.”

Sam Robinson of property agency Colliers, who represented Screwfix, said: “Ben Truslove and his team understood our requirements and acted immediately to identify an ideal property for Screwfix and we are very pleased the deal proceeded swiftly to enable our clients to open a new branch in early October.”

Unit 19 at the Arden Business Centre provides 4,239 sq ft of space and was snapped up by Screwfix on a ten year lease at £28,000 per annum.

The trade retailer has spent recent weeks fitting out the new store, which is set to officially open on October 3, creating ten new jobs.

Store manager Amy Stackhouse believes the store’s convenient location, wide product range and ability to provide a Click & Collect service in as little as one minute from ordering, is a real bonus to local tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts, who need to get jobs done quickly, affordably and right first time.

“I’m confident we’ve got a great location here in Alcester. My team and I have been getting to know local businesses and tradespeople and we look forward to supporting them in their busy lives, with a focus on customer service.”

The new store is one of 28 units at the Arden Business Centre, which was constructed in the late 1980s.
