Selco acquires fifth North West site from landlord Steamrock Capital

Selco Trade Centres has acquired a former Carpetright warehouse in Salford in a deal brokered by the specialist industrial and logistics team at real estate advisors Colliers International.

Trading as Selco Builders Warehouse, the UK’s fastest growing builders’ merchant has taken a 15-year lease at £10.17 per sq ft on the 19,671 sq ft former Carpetright premises with car parking on Regent Road, Salford.

Acting on behalf of Selco Trade Centres, Colliers acquired the premises from the landlord, Steamrock Capital Ltd.

When the trade centre opens in early 2020 it will be Selco’s fifth location in the North West of England with other sites at Ardwick, Ashton-under-Lyne, Wythenshawe and Warrington.

John Sullivan. director, industrial and logistics at the Manchester office of Colliers International, brokered the deal and said: “Finding the right site for Selco in Salford was certainly challenging, so managing to secure such a prominent location close to the city centre represented a great off-market deal for all parties.”

Stuart Doolittle, acquisitions manager at Selco Trade Centres, said: “With Selco Builders Warehouses already established and operating successfully around Greater Manchester and Warrington, this store in Salford will provide our customers with a complete service across the city and further afield.

“This prominent location will already be known to many people and we’re planning something special with the signage to ensure it can’t be missed.”
