The winner of ITV’s Love Island in 2017 has helped a Midlands fashion label create ten jobs as part of its expansion, in a property deal sealed by John Truslove.

The firm of chartered surveyors has attracted Motel Rocks, an online retailer of women’s clothing, to move from Redditch to 12,548 sq ft premises on the Aston Fields Trading Estate, off Buntsford Park Road, Bromsgrove.

The move to a larger headquarters and distribution centre comes after Amber Davies, the winner of Love Island 2017, worked with the Motel fashion brand last summer in a marketing drive that saw a 75% increase in business.

Ian Parker, a director at John Truslove, said: “We were proud and delighted to work with this leading fashion house on their expansion needs, and it was satisfying to find them exactly the premises they wanted.”

Peter Giles, managing director of the Rustin and Mallory Group – which trades as Motel Rocks – said: “The collaboration with Amber Davies saw a real surge in the popularity of the Motel brand which saw our online visitors reach 3.5 million a year and sales exceed 225,000 units.

“We needed a larger space for our distribution centre and higher quality offices, and the new Bromsgrove base offered via John Truslove was the perfect solution for our needs.”

Mr Giles added that Motel Rocks was now in the process of hiring up to ten new staff in warehousing and social media outreach roles, which represented a 50% increase on what is currently a staff of around 20.
