Staff to run a mile (or hopefully more)

A team of eight sprightly solicitors and support staff from law firm Freeth Cartwright will be sweating it out in the cross-country endurance event of the year, having entered for the Adidas Thunder Run 2012, a 24-hour off-road running event being held at Catton Hall, Tamworth on 28th and 29th July.  The team hope to beat their target of £1,000 for the firm’s 2012 selected charities.

The run, which is a test of tactics, endurance, speed and team work, takes in a 10 km circuit.  The Freeth Cartwright team (pictured) are:   Sarah Carroll, James Gorman, Patrick Adie, Rachel Clarke, Fiona Pritchard, Carl Holmes, Nick spearing and Helen Jones.  One team member must be on the course at all times during the 24 hours and runners must complete one full 10 km lap before changing over with a team
mate but may run more laps if they wish. Each participant will complete an average of 3 hours running in a 24 hour period and whichever team completes the most number of circuits during the 24 hour period, wins.

Fiona Pritchard, a senior associate at the firm said:  “We must be mad – but it’s for a number of great causes so we are all up for the challenge.  Let’s hope the sun shines!”
