Acorn opens new office in Manchester to continue North West growth

Following increased employer demand, leading recruitment agency Acorn has announced the opening of a new branch in Manchester, based at the Digital World Centre, Salford.

This new branch will reinforce Acorn’s presence in the region, joining a network of four branches throughout the North West (in Crewe, Manchester, Preston and Widnes), another two in North Wales, and a further 20 UK-wide.

The Manchester branch will provide key specialist recruitment support to businesses and job seekers in the area, placing people into permanent, contract and temporary roles across Manufacturing, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Automotive and Office Support.

It will also act as the Northern hub for several of Acorn’s specialist divisions, including IT & Digital, Construction and the Executive Search service for employers looking for new Board Members and Directors, enabling them to engage with the talent pool to deliver the skills needed to support planned projects within the region.

Christian Ash, Northern Operations Director at Acorn, first joined the company in 2006 to set up and manage the Preston branch. He is now overseeing the management of all six branches across the North West and North Wales.

Talking about the new Manchester branch, Christian said: “This is very exciting news for both the region and Acorn. The opening of the new Manchester branch provides us with a perfect platform to continue working with leading businesses throughout the North West, and allows us to develop trusting relationships with people in Manchester. We’re situated just thirty seconds from the Media City Tram stop so we’re expecting to be the first stop for people looking to talk to us about the latest job opportunities in the area.

“Acorn’s ambitious expansion plan is what attracted me from the start. Setting up the Preston branch over ten years ago was a great challenge, and I still feel the same excitement for a new branch a decade later.

“Our latest move into Manchester was the most natural next step for us, as we know the area, we understand the thriving and challenging sectors and already have some great relationships with employers and job seekers; so it’s all systems go from the very start.”

This is the fourth branch Acorn has opened in the UK this year, following the launch of two branches in the South-West, in Bridgwater and Bournemouth and another in Baglan, South Wales.
