GBR Phoenix Beard strengthens team

GBR Phoenix Beard has further strengthened its Birmingham team with the promotion of Richard Fletcher-Brewer to an associate in its office agency team and the appointment of Andrew Christou as a building surveyor in its building consultancy division.  In the accounts team, Esther Armstrong joins as a client accounts manager from CBRE, and Mary Richardson has been promoted to team leader of GBR Phoenix Beard’s accounts assistants.

Richard joined GBR 6 months before its merger with Phoenix Beard and has played a key role in securing a string of Birmingham city centre and out of town leasing transactions.   Recent deals include representing Invesco Real Estate at Park Square on Birmingham Business Park in relation to a 10 year lease for 8,484 sq ft office space for global insurance claims management company Cunningham Lindsey and working closely with the management team of shoe retailer and e-tailer Cloggs on its move to a new headquarters at The Charters in New Street, Birmingham.

Andrew Christou joins GBR Phoenix Beard from Bruton Knowles and will support the company’s building surveying work for clients such as Threadneedle Property Investors and Standard Life.  Andrew hails from Coventry and is studying towards the APC (‘Assessment of Professional Competence’) qualification.

Commenting on the team changes, Simon Farrant, managing director at GBR Phoenix Beard said:
“These staff announcements are critical to our ongoing success.  Nurturing our staff and attracting new talent to the business are at the heart of our HR strategy.  Richard has played a major role in helping our agency team to conclude one of its most successful years ever.  His track record in representing clients and transacting with new tenants is outstanding.  Andrew’s appointment brings much needed additional capacity to respond to growing demand for building consultancy services from property investors who are increasing capital expenditure and maintenance budgets.  The accounts team plays an integral role in client service delivery.  Esther’s appointment, alongside Mary’s promotion positions our business to exceed the expectations of our expanding client portfolio.”
