Company expands into Birmingham

Commercial property specialist Shortland Penn + Moore has opened its first Birmingham office.

The firm, which specialises in a number of  aspects of commercial property work including sales, lettings, professional services and investment agency, has opened an office on Colmore Row.

Shortland Penn + Moore was founded 12 years ago and is based in Coventry but increasing levels of work in Birmingham, particularly in investment, has prompted the expansion.

Jonathan Moore, who joined Shortland Penn + Moore after seven years on the investment team of DTZ in Birmingham, said: “We have been undertaking more and more work with Birmingham based clients for the last year or so and feel it is important we have a permanent presence in the city centre.

“Much of that work has been in the investment field and I have extensive experience and knowledge of the Birmingham market having worked there for ten years previously.

“We are also on the valuation panels of the majority of lenders and are offering a full range of professional work to our clients and potential clients in the Birmingham area.”

The company grew from Shortland Horne, a general property practice founded by David Shortland, one of the region’s best known names in property services, in 1995.

Managing director David Penn joined from Countrywide in 1998 to set up the commercial division and it was established as a separate entity in 2000 before rebranding as Shortland Penn + Moore last year.
