New look for property professionals

Portsmouth Property Association (PPSA) – the body that brings together the city’s industry professionals under one umbrella group – has a new look website.

The organisation, now with a record membership of more than 150 experts, has completely revamped its public-facing web page.

PPA Secretary Neil Hawkins said: “We felt it was time to take a fresh approach to our website.

“In today’s fast-moving, technological world people want instant knowledge at their fingertips – and will go elsewhere if they don’t find it.”

Neil, co-founder of long established Portsmouth chartered surveyors Chandler Hawkins, added: “We decided a new look website would help anyone seeking help or advice on any aspect of the world of property.

“To do this we have improved signposting, directing website viewers to our bank of experts in virtually every field of the property industry.”

The main change is the introduction of a quick click property database allowing people to search for homes for sale or to let by price, location or size.

Neil explained: “We take in external regional feeds and also our estate agent members can list their properties for free. It is still early days, but we are encouraging them all to participate to build a really comprehensive service for home-buyers.”

Also, with a heading of ‘Your Property Experts’ the PPA’s website has various sections intended to help visitors find the help they need at a ‘one-stop shop’ covering all aspects of the property world.

PPA members linked in a single recognised body include estate agents, lettings and property management agents, commercial property agents, chartered surveyors, accountants, solicitors and bankers.

PPA Chairman Steve Cripps, who is in a second year in the role, said: “We are aiming to raise the profile of the PPA with the public during 2016 and also do more for the membership.

“This new website will help us achieve both intentions – by making it easier for visitors to negotiate their way to the help they need at our ‘one stop property shop’ and by better publicising professional and social events for members.”

The PPA’s ‘webmaster’ is Simon Pinkney, Fareham-based Director responsible for Lettings and IT at long-established independent estate agents Pearsons.
