Matthew Clark toasts new Southampton home

Acting on behalf of Navimo UK Ltd, commercial property consultancies Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) and Primmer Olds have completed a complex property transaction at Hamilton Business Park in Hedge End, Southampton.

LSH’s South Coast Agency team has successfully assigned Navimo UK Ltd’s 35 year lease on its 38,950 sq ft warehouse unit C (West) to Matthew Clark Wholesale. Matthew Clark, a leading drinks supplier, is merging its two Chandlers Ford depots into a single warehouse, consequently upgrading its business space to more modern premises. The business plans to take occupation in March.

Matthew Clark is an award-winning drinks supplier to hotels, restaurants, pubs and clubs, offering customers an unrivalled range of over 4,000 products including champagne, wine, spirits, beers and soft drinks. Matthew Clark continues to invest substantially in improving and enhancing the service it provides to customers. Graham Donald, Business Risk Director of Matthew Clark stated: “The new facility is the first in a number of significant investments that Matthew Clark is making in its Southampton operation. The investment in the new facility will ensure we continue to provide the best service for our customers and will provide additional capacity to accommodate the growth in our business.”

Adrian Whitfield, Director in LSH’s South Coast team, commented: “Matthew Clark Wholesale wanted quality accommodation close to its current sites and with good motorway access. Hamilton Business Park ticked both boxes, while also delivering an upscale in facilities to a modern warehouse. This type of product is in demand here on the South Coast, and the current shortage in quality industrial space puts Hamilton Business Park in a good position to capitalise on that demand.”

Matthew Clark was advised by Harold Whitehead & Partners.
