New executive sets sight on bright future

Experienced business executive Brian Marsh has joined an expanding renewable energy investor and developer in Dorset.

He has been appointed head of sales at Renewable Energy Investments (REI) in Ferndown as the company continues to grow nationally.

Brian brings more than 25 years of sales expertise, having worked at Solar Century and Evo Energy before joining REI after many years in the IT industry.

He said: “There are a lot of similarities between the current renewable energy market and the early days of the IT industry with great opportunities and potential for growth.

“I really enjoy working in renewable energy and I am committed to selling something I completely believe in, so this position was screaming out to me.

“REI is an aspirational firm with rapid growth and the demand is huge for our unique offer as no other companies have the same unique Solar Power Purchase funding offers as REI.

“We are in the right market, at the right time, in the right position with an extremely attractive offer which is all about helping customers reduce their continually rising electricity bills.”

Brian will lead a team of six regional account managers covering the whole country.

His brief includes developing partnerships with experienced solar PV installation companies and building a sales and marketing strategy to meet demand and deliver more growth.

Under its Solar Power Purchase Scheme, REI fits cutting-edge solar PV systems for business customers free of charge, which means they can preserve their capital for their core business.

REI then supplies clean, green electricity at a heavily discounted rate before handing over ownership of the system entirely in 20 years.

REI managing director Simon Booth said: “Demand continues to grow and we are very excited about the wide range of customers who we are able to help.

“Brian has the vital experience, expertise and passion for the sector to help us meet that demand and significantly expand our business as we reach an exciting phase of our development.

“His leadership of our high calibre team of professional account managers will allow us to tell more clients and partners about our innovative funding scheme.”

The move comes as REI continues to roll out a large number of systems nationwide under the Solar Power Purchase Scheme.

Recent installations included Seymac Distribution Services in Redruth, Cornwall and Staunton Garden Centre in Gloucestershire.
