Tax isn’t taxing for growing team

Grant Thornton UK LLP has taken on 10 new members of staff in Hampshire to cater for an increase in work.

The business and financial adviser has strengthened its Personal Tax Compliance Unit (PTCU) at its Southampton office, with all the new staff members joining in the last month and eight of them starting in the same week.

The appointments are a direct result of the office being asked to handle increasing numbers of personal tax cases. Southampton is one of Grant Thornton’s biggest handlers of personal tax returns nationally and the city team deals with more than 3,000 every year.

The new staff range from graduates from Bournemouth university, to staff with over 20 years’ relevant experience. Their recruitment brings the total number in the Southampton PTCU to 30.

Jennie Cook, Head of Grant Thornton’s Southampton PTCU, said: “The recruitment of so many new members to the team represents our strength in the field of tax, both regionally and nationally. Our workload is rightfully growing and I know the talented new additions to the team will help us not only to service it but to exceed our clients’ expectations.”

Stephen Mills, Office Managing Partner, commented: “I am delighted to welcome all of our new joiners. Their appointment marks another step in the steady growth of our business, having gained new clients from a range of sectors. I know they will provide an exceptional service for our clients.”
