Colliers International makes senior appointment to its rating team

GuyRichardsonGuy Richardson has joined Colliers International as a senior director within its rating team.

Mr Richardson has joined from the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), where he was a director and member of the Board. He will be based at the firm’s Birmingham office.

Mr Richardson brings significant experience to Colliers International in the valuation of specialist and complex properties for business rates. As head of the utilities rating team at the VOA, he was recognised as an expert in the renewable, electricity and maritime port sectors. His appointment will help expand the existing specialist capability within Colliers’ rating team.

John Webber, Colliers International’s Birmingham-based national head of rating, said: “This is a significant appointment for our team nationally. In his previous role, Guy provided strategic direction to the Valuation Office Agency, the executive agency of HM Revenue and Customs responsible for business rates, council tax, valuations for Inheritance tax and Capital Gains Tax.

“As part his role, he also oversaw the breadth of the Agency’s programme of work, approving the overall strategy and vision as well as monitoring its implementation and operational performance.”
