Anglo Holt aids industrial expansion

A West Midlands construction company has helped a booming Surrey business continue its success after building additional industrial storage space.

Construction teams from West Bromwich-based Anglo Holt, building on behalf of St. Modwen – owner of the 20-acre business park – recently completed a £1.45 million design and build contract for an industrial shell unit at Henley Business Park in Guildford, Surrey.

Kirk Petrophysics – a company that specialises in core-related wellsite, laboratory and data management services – occupies the 21,000 sq ft unit. The new facility, which has doubled the company’s current capacity at the business park, provides additional space to store core and cuttings and houses plans for future expansion of the office accommodation on site.

The shell unit has a ground floor and mezzanine office, which is accessed by a platform lift, with car parking facilities and a service yard. It was built to 8,450mm eaves height with a TR34 FM 2 floor slab for racking installation and a large diameter off-site drainage works for future development.

Andy Elwell, managing director at Anglo Holt, said: “We’re pleased to be involved with one of the few projects to bring more industrial units to the area and provide Kirk Petrophysics with a space that fits their requirements as they look to expand.”

Nick Kay, development director at St. Modwen, said: “Last year was exceptionally strong for Henley Business Park and 2013 looks to be no different. As well as completing this building, we also already have serious interest in the next bespoke building and hope to agree terms with the occupiers shortly. We ensure that the process of delivering bespoke buildings is made as simple as possible for our clients allowing them to focus on running their businesses.”
