Redsun acquires former Ungerer site in Chester

Redsun Projects has acquired a five-acre site on Sealand Road in Chester from fragrance and flavour manufacturer, Ungerer Ltd.

The site currently comprises approximately 60,000 sq. ft. of office and warehouse accommodation. Part of this is scheduled for demolition as part of plans for a wider re-development of the site.

It occupies a prominent position within one of Chester’s key employment areas, near the Greyhound Retail Park and the wider Bumpers Lane and Sealand Road trade parks.

The acquisition – made for an undisclosed sum – marks Redsun Projects’ latest investment in the North West. The developer is set to carry out a period of market testing before bringing forward redevelopment proposals for the site in 2026.

Nick Wightman, director at Redsun Projects, said: “This well-located, prominent site is within one of Chester’s primary commercial areas on the edge of the city centre. We recognise huge potential to reinvigorate this site and we’ll now work with our agents to test the market and shape proposals that align with local demand.”

He continued: “The limited availability of modern industrial and trade accommodation in and around Chester will create significant interest in this site once we progress our redevelopment proposals. The opportunity here is guaranteed to generate strong appetite from both regional and national occupiers, and we expect a high number of enquiries once plans for the site are announced.”

Ungerer was represented by Bolton Birch and Brachers LLP. Redsun Projects was advised by Addleshaw Goddard LLP.

Cushman and Wakefield and CPP have been instructed by Redsun Projects as agents for the site.
