Bromsgrove agent helps local charity

JP Dillon Commercial Property Consultants has acquired 8,000 sq ft of industrial space in Bromsgrove to help a local charity expand.

Acting on behalf of NewStarts, in an off market deal, JP Dillon Commercial Property Consultants has acquired 1 Sherwood Road, Bromsgrove on a 10 year full repairing and insuring lease, with a break after five years, based on preferential stepped rental terms from landlord Barpro Group Ltd.

NewStarts is a Bromsgrove based furniture re-use charity that aims to help meet the needs of people on low incomes at the point when they are moving into social housing following a period of homelessness, or other personal or financial crisis, by providing furniture and household goods donated by private individuals and commercial organisations.

NewStarts plans to use 1 Sherwood Road to store furniture and household goods, which it collects free from across Worcestershire before they are distributed to people moving into a new home.  This unit will replace the charity’s former premises at 51 Willow Road, Bromsgrove, providing additional space for the charity’s activities, which also includes furniture restoration, skills training, making emergency donations of food and selling discounted goods.

Mr Dillon says: “We were able to negotiate a number of incentives from the landlord to help this very worthwhile local charity get the best deal it could to help it thrive in the future.”

“The team at NewStarts were a joy to work with and we were only too happy to assist what is a very worthwhile local charity in guiding them through the maze that we call the Commercial Property Market”
