Commercial property agents John Truslove have helped thriving groundwork company Ashlane secure a £900,000 deal for its new headquarters in Redditch.

Ashlane Construction is now set for the future with space to grow as it deals with an increasing workload from major housebuilders, laying down roads, sewers, drainage and foundations to prepare sites for building work to start.

Ian Parker, joint managing director of John Truslove, worked closely with Ashlane and its managing director Ashley Williams during an 18-month hunt for the right premises.

Mr Williams said: “We started out 20 years ago with an office in our backyard but John Truslove helped us find our first offices five years ago in Astwood Bank. So when it became clear we had outgrown our old offices we got in touch with Ian Parker and the team to help us find a new headquarters that we could acquire.

“But it proved a challenge. The sort of premises we needed were hard to find and often were snapped up quickly. They were also very expensive.

“It took around 18 months but we found the premises at Unit 7 on Enfield Industrial Estate in Redditch. They needed some work, which was ideal for us, and with John Truslove’s help we sealed the deal in good time and were able to move in a few months later.

“It combines offices, storage space and a workshop with a yard and has been absolutely brilliant for the business.

“We are very busy and have been since we transformed the business in 2016 to focus on our work for major housebuilders like Redrow and Persimmon. We are usually working on ten or a dozen sites across the Midlands at any one time, while we have grown to employ around 170 people – both directly employed and sub-contractors.

“The new headquarters give us plenty of room to grow for the future. Ian and the team at John Truslove have been brilliant, working with us to find the right place at the right price.”

Ian Parker helped Ashlane Construction seal a £900,000 purchase of the 15,114 sq ft unit on the Enfield Industrial Estate.

Mr Parker said: “We have a good relationship with Ashley and his company and knew what they needed for the next stage in their growth. The deceptively simple process of identifying which of our clients had the premises available for sale to meet their needs took some time, but we are delighted to have helped Ashlane Construction establish their new headquarters.

“We look forward to seeing the company continue to thrive and grow.”
