The Urban Building, Slough, attracts Fujitsu Research of Europe as a new occupier

Acting on behalf of Abrdn, Colliers and JLL have jointly let a 5,300 sq ft bespoke fitted space on part of the second floor of The Urban Building, Slough, to Fujitsu Research of Europe (FRE), on a seven-year term for £32.50 per sq ft.

This deal follows the recent letting to Logicalis, which signed for a 5,250 sq ft suite in a deal structured to reflect the nature of the newly fitted space being taken.

Andy Tucker, Associate Director, National Offices at Colliers commented: “The Urban Building is a well located, high quality office scheme offering flexible workspaces, meeting rooms, conference suites and the convenience of on-site amenities. It already benefits from a diverse range of occupiers including McAfee, KP Snacks, NSL and Logicalis. As a result of the recent success achieved on Cat A + office suites in this building, Abrdn is now creating an additional 4,500 sq ft fitted space on part of the second floor of the building; an ideal unit for companies seeking immediately available quality accommodation.”

This deal with FRE coincides with the launch of the RAW Charging facility onsite at The Urban Building, a rapidly growing provider of electric vehicle charging solutions and infrastructure for the UK’s net zero future. The RAW facility sits on the corner of Albert Street and Windsor Road and will be available to the public 24/7 with space for 12 electric vehicles to charge simultaneously. The site, which Abrdn has supported and provided significant capital investment into, will deliver electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions and hopes to encourage the residents of Slough to transfer to EVs ahead of the Government ban on the sale of new petrol and diesel vehicles in 2030.
