Adyen secures new London office HQ in former Fitzrovia Car Park

Adyen, which has seen continued growth throughout the pandemic, has signed a lease to occupy 14,059 sq ft across the top four floors of Wells Mews in Fitzrovia.

With 26 offices globally, Adyen is a payments platform delivering frictionless payments across online, mobile and in-store channels for companies wanting an end-to-end infrastructure that connects directly to Visa, Mastercard and other popular payment methods. Customers include Facebook, Uber, Spotify, Casper, Bonobos and L’Oréal.

A former car park in the heart of Fitzrovia, Wells Mews has been reimagined by Ben Adams Architects to provide 22,876 sq ft of Grade A office space across six floors. The space has been designed with an industrial-style finish to reflect the heritage and offers Grade A office space with a contemporary feel.

Colin Neil, Managing Director, Adyen UK, said: “We’re very excited to move to Wells Mews, which not only matches our growth ambitions but also reflects our values and way of working. As well as providing ample room for growth, its modern design is a great fit for our forward-thinking outlook and culture. I’m confident our team will find it an inspiring, creative, and fun environment in which to collaborate. It’s also important to us that we remain in the heart of London’s retail district, keeping us close to retail businesses and the shoppers we indirectly serve.”

Alex Kemp, Co-Head of Colliers’ West End Leasing team, added: “Wells Mews has captured the post-pandemic zeitgeist, delivering at a point when we are seeing increased numbers of businesses re-assessing their occupational needs and seeking ways to continue to encourage their staff back to the office. What better way than securing this achingly cool new space in Fitzrovia, one of the most exciting districts in London, for their staff to come back together. It offers a pretty compelling incentive for a return to office life.”

This letting to Adyen leaves just two floors available at Wells Mews – the ground and first floor, measuring 3,957 sq ft and 4,860 sq ft, respectively.

Colliers and RX London jointly represented Hondo and Angelo Gordon. Making Moves represented Adyen.
