Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell and Keygrove Chartered Surveyors unite in strategic expansion

Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell has announced the acquisition of Keygrove Chartered Surveyors marking a significant step in its strategic growth, joining forces, bringing together heritage, expertise, and ambition to create a stronger presence across central southern England.

Tom Holloway, Hamish MacAlister, and Andrew Hancock are delighted to announce the acquisition, which sees Keygrove Chartered Surveyors now fully incorporated into Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell. This marks a significant step forward in delivering enhanced services, broader regional coverage, and increased capacity for clients across the region.

“This acquisition brings together two firms that share the same commitment to excellence and client care,” said Tom Holloway. “By combining our expertise and resources, we are creating a stronger, more capable team to serve clients across central southern England while maintaining the personal service both our firms are known for.”

Keygrove Chartered Surveyors was originally established in December 2000 following a management buy-out by Richard Nevines from the national firm Cardales, a business with a proud history spanning over 50 years. Originally trading as Keith Cardale Groves, the legacy of the “Keygrove” name reflects a long-standing commitment to professionalism, expertise, and client-focused service. Despite its boutique size, the firm has built a reputation for delivering a highly personal and trusted approach. Andrew Hancock joined the firm in 2015 with 15 years experience in Commercial Property Management behind him.

Holloway Iliffe & Mitchell, founded in 1991, was originally known as Holloway Iliffe and established by Derek Holloway and Neil Iliffe. The business later joined forces with Stuart Mitchell of Mitchell Jones in 1995. Tom Holloway joined the firm as a graduate in 1999, Hamish joined in 2018 with 15+ years of experience specialising in property management. The company has expanded steadily ever since, developing a strong reputation in the commercial property sector. With key contributions from Tom and Hamish MacAlister, the firm continues to grow its footprint and influence. Following the acquisition of Richard Nevines’s majority share, the newly combined business is well positioned to provide continued support, guidance, and long-term stability.

Importantly, the Keygrove name and branding will be retained in the near term, ensuring continuity for clients and preserving its well-established market identity. Over time, the businesses will integrate further to form a cohesive, two-office operation serving central southern England.

Richard Nevines, Andrew Archibald and Stuart Mitchell will remain as consultants to the business which will retain their knowledge and experience within the firm.

The combined firm will manage an extensive and growing portfolio, including over 150 agency instructions across south Hampshire, alongside a substantial commercial property and estate management portfolio with more than 1,000 tenants spanning Dorset, Hampshire, Sussex, and beyond.

With plans to expand capacity within the Keygrove office, the partnership is firmly focused on growth enhancing service delivery while maintaining the personal, hands-on approach both firms are known for.

As a result of the expansion, there is currently an exciting Lease Advisory and Valuer opportunity within the Professional Department which gives a suitable candidate the opportunity to grow with the business.

The acquired business offers a full spectrum of commercial property services, including sales, lettings & property acquisition, property and estate management, RICS-compliant valuations, property investment advice, lease advisory services, and development consultancy.

By combining complementary expertise, the business delivers a fully integrated, end-to-end service offering to clients across the region.

This acquisition represents more than just growth. It is a strategic alignment of experience, relationships, and vision, creating a stronger platform to support clients now and in the future.
