A Grade A office suite in Peterborough’s Unex House – the landmark, trackside office building in Peterborough’s Old Station Quarter gateway to the city – has been let to a couple of business entrepreneurs operating in the leisure, hospitality & retail sectors.
Confirmation of the latest office letting on the lower ground floor of the converted former industrial warehouse comes from BTG Eddisons who is joint agent with Savills at Unex House.
Unex House is on Viersen Platz, Bourges Boulevard and, according to the agents, offers a level and style of office accommodation not matched elsewhere in the city centre or surrounding office districts.
The latest letting on the ground floor sees its new tenants taking 8,500 sq ft of space within the building which, itself, is converted from the former railway engine sheds, dating back to the 19th Century, with many features of the original building retained and exposed.
With a high parking ratios on site, Unex House is just seven minutes’ walk from Peterborough Railway Station which is a significant stop on the East Coast mainline from London King’s Cross as well as offering more local and regional connections across East Anglia and the East Midlands.
Unex House is a prominent building on the edge of Peterborough’s historic city centre and its associated shopping, leisure and hospitality amenities.
Although becoming an established and prominent office location, the agents believe Unex House retains a freshness of appeal to a range of modern office occupiers from the more conventional professional and financial services or creative industries or the newly emerging technologies.
According to Julian Welch, Director, BTG Eddisons, “Unex House is a key building in the Old Station Quarter. It has been something of trailblazer in setting the tone for the upgrade of the surrounding Embankment area and the forthcoming Station Quarter £65 million regeneration project which got central government backing last autumn.”
