Central Birmingham office market take up figures for Quarter 4, 2019

The latest report was compiled for Birmingham Office Market Forum by Jonathan Carmalt, Director, Office Agency, JLL.

Office take up in quarter four, 2019 in the central Birmingham office market totalled 104,893 sq ft in 26 deals.

When added to the 90 deals totalling 675,202 sq ft recorded in the first three quarters of the year, the 2019 year-end total take up amounts to 780,095 sq ft in 116 deals .

The 2019 outcome exceeds both the 2018 total and the 10 year average take up in central Birmingham and demonstrates a steady finish to the year.

Office enquiries remain encouraging moving into 2020. With low levels of grade A supply, the delivery of the next generation of new build developments will be well received with both Three Snowhill and 2 Chamberlain Square, Paradise completing at the start of the year and 103 Colmore Row also progressing at a pace.

Birmingham Office Market Forum was established in 2007 to present a co-ordinated voice to investors, developers and occupiers about Birmingham’s city centre office market. The Forum brings together the city’s leading office agents and Business Birmingham.
