Jersey company sets up first UK base

Acting on behalf of CBRE Global Investors, national commercial property consultancy Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) has secured a new tenant for a trade park scheme in Winchester.

A new five year lease has been signed on unit 4 Wykeham Trade Park in Winnall, Winchester, totalling 5,471 sq ft. Ledhut Ltd is a Jersey-based LED lighting company, opening its first trade counter showroom in the UK. The company imports its stock through Heathrow Airport, and having easy access and being in close proximity to Southampton International Airport was a primary driver in taking this unit for its own UK distribution hub.

Adrian Whitfield, Director in LSH’s South Coast agency team, commented: “This is really positive news for the region’s industrial and trade counter market. The lease documentation was completed within a fortnight, and with the last remaining unit of 4,110 sq ft now under offer we are optimistic of full occupation at Wykeham Trade Park shortly. This follows on from the successful letting of all the vacant units at Southampton Trade Park for CBRE Global Investors in 2011, and underlines the shortage of good quality prominent industrial and trade counter units close to the M27/M3.”

Other occupiers on Wykeham Trade Park include Howdens, Tool Station, Screwfix and Bathroom Warehouse.

Jones Lang LaSalle acts as joint marketing agent on the scheme, alongside LSH.
