Islington Square continues to expand its retail & leisure offering by signing Megan’s restaurant

Cain International has confirmed Megan’s will open in Islington Square – joining an extensive leisure offer which already includes Odeon Luxe & Dine, Third Space, family members club Maggie & Rose and vegan restaurant Omnom.

Megan’s opened its first diner on Kings Road in 2002 and has since grown – opening restaurants in Clapham, Battersea, Balham, Fulham, Parsons Green and more recently Wimbledon Village. Known for its brunch menu which is served all day, every day, the dog-friendly restaurant, offers a charismatic dining experience allowing guests to bring along their pets when visiting. As well as the brunch menu, customers can also opt to eat from the lunch and evening menu which is influenced by tastes from traditional Mediterranean dishes.

Developed by Cain International, the privately held real estate investment firm operating across Europe and the US, Islington Square is located in the heart of Islington, just off vibrant Upper Street – ten minutes’ walk from both Angel station (Northern Line) and Highbury and Islington Overground. Situated on the former site of the historic Royal Mail sorting office, the architecture blends contemporary design with its historic surroundings, transforming it into a unique North London destination.

Totalling 170,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space, Islington Square, will see the addition of Odeon’s Luxe and Dine six-screen boutique cinema along with high-end gym operator, Third Space. Islington Square features two generous double height retail arcades, a tree-lined boulevard and a public realm that will seamlessly link the development with Upper Street.

Neil Barber, Leasing Director, Cain International commented: “We are delighted to welcome Megan’s to Islington Square. As a London-born restaurant that prides itself on its community spirit and character, it is an excellent addition to the destination’s retail, dining and lifestyle offering.

With many of the 270 residential units now occupied and the Citadines 108 bed serviced apartments expected to arrive before the end of the year, the offer of an all-day restaurant is exactly what the area needs.”

Spokesperson for Megan’s, commented: “As we continue to expand our family of dining venues across the capital, we’re thrilled to be opening in Islington Square – it is exactly the kind of location we are looking for. With its connectivity to Angel Underground and Highbury and Islington Overground, we will be in the heart of a vibrant community.

“We’re committed to giving back to communities. We want to meet the people who live, work and visit Islington and become their restaurant of choice.”

Islington Square’s further selection of fashion, artisan and lifestyle brands, includes Scandinavian fashion brand COS as well as upmarket French fashion label, A.P.C.
