Columbia Threadneedle acquires DHL warehouse investment in £6.0m deal

Leading Commercial Property Partners has confirmed the sale of a 73,245 sq ft distribution warehouse unit located in a prime industrial area of Wakefield, West Yorkshire.

The £6.0m deal sees new owners Columbia Threadneedle acquire the Normanton-based premises from DHL Supply Chain Ltd.

Located on Waindyke Way on the popular Normanton Industrial Estate, the impressive warehouse forms part of an 9.8 acre site which is situated just a quarter of a mile from J31 of the M62, and in close proximity to Wakefield town centre, Pontefract and Leeds.

The 2-bay steel portal framed warehouse benefits from extensive mezzanine floor areas, as well as office space and canteen facilities; boasting an eaves height of 13.64m, 11 dock level loadings doors, one ground level loading door and a secure concrete loading yard.

Roger Haworth, Partner at CPP, said: “Located in close proximity to Leeds, and within easy reaching distance of the M62 and M1 motorways, this unit is situated in one of Yorkshire’s central business hubs, surrounded by notable tenants such as ASDA, Haribo and Argos.

“We are delighted to have advised DHL on another successful deal. Interest in the unit once brought to market was significant given its features, size and location, and its quick sale serves to highlight the continued demand for industrial and warehouse investment premises in Yorkshire.”
