Three companies have this week been announced as finalists by accountancy and business advisory firm BDO LLP for their Central South Mid Market Company of the Year award.

BDO’s annual campaign, which celebrates the region’s ‘economic engine’ – mid-sized companies with a turnover of between £10m and £300m – today reveals the finalists for the Central South Company of the Year as Southampton-based national car retailer Imperial Cars, investment and finance business Just Develop It, based in Fareham, and airline & MRO consumable solutions provider PDQ Airspares, headquartered in Fordingbridge.

The finalists were selected from 40 companies identified over the last 12 months as being the leading mid-market businesses in terms of overall performance or international activity. They were shortlisted for meeting key criteria including strong sustained performance and approach to new markets.

Commenting on the continuing strong performance by the mid-market, Malcolm Thixton, Lead Partner at BDO Southampton, said: “Operating in very different sectors our finalists this year typify the huge diversity of businesses in this region – a key factor in its enduring resilience over the last decade which we believe leaves it strongly placed to tackle whatever happens in the next few years.”

The winner will be announced alongside the Central South Mid Market FD of the Year at a gala dinner at the Hilton at the Ageas on Wednesday 22 May.
