Wapple has designs on mobile internet growth

Mobile web design group Wapple is expanding fast after taking a five year lease on new premises in Redditch.

It has moved into units one and two at Brockhill Court, with help from agents John Truslove.

The units are part of a high quality barn conversion just ten minutes away from junctions one and two of the M42.

Formed in 2004, Wapple provides a technology platform for creating high quality mobile websites, applications and marketing campaigns that are optimised for devices, on any network, anywhere in the world.

The name, derived from the acronym WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), was created by founders Rich Holdsworth and Anne Thomas – years before Apple entered the mobile space with their iPhone.

It is also teamed up with Google to support its GetMo application, aimed at providing British-based businesses with the tools and resources to support their mobile marketing activity.

John Truslove partner Ian Parker said: “Britain desperately needs high technology industry and Wapple is at the forefront of its sector.

“It is great news for Redditch that they are expanding and enabling firms to advertise their wares via the mobile revolution.

“Brockhill Court is deep in the countryside, offering Wapple’s workforce a rural retreat yet with close connections to Birmingham, London and the motorway network.”

The firm has taken 2,789 sq ft at the site.

It also has offices in London and San Diego.
