Kawasaki’s recruits Concept

Global provider of hydraulic equipment, Kawasaki Precision Machinery (KPM), has renewed its contract with the South West’s leading recruitment company, Concept Staffing, in order to fulfil its increasing need for staff.

KPM, which is based in Ernesettle but supplies products around the world, relies on Concept to supply 40 manufacturing workers a day.

Concept has been working with the plant since the end of 2009, and has recently had the contract renewed for a further 12 months making them KPM’s sole supplier of temporary and permanent staff. They will continue to supply as many assemblers, CNC setters, project, programme and production managers and engineers, and material handlers that are needed to meet KPMs orders.

KPM supplies quality hydraulic equipment for mobile, industrial, construction, marine, and other engineering applications. As well its main base in Plymouth, KPM also has production facilities in Japan, China and Korea.

HR Manager, Rachel Davies, said: “We are delighted to continue to work with Concept for at least another year.  We have an excellent working relationship which enables Concept to tailor their service to our particular business needs.

“It is a good sign that, despite businesses suffering in recent times, we are still in a position to recruit new staff and we see no signs of this changing in the future.”

Concept Regional Sales Manager Noel Hoare said: “Despite this being challenging times in the employment sector, companies such as KPM that continue to take on staff is a useful indicator of positive things to come.

“We have a superb relationship with Kawasaki, and it is a great business to be working with – and so we’re particularly delighted that they’ve chosen to extend our relationship further.”

Concept Staffing, which has branches across Devon, Cornwall, Somerset and Wiltshire, is the South West’s leading provider of permanent and temporary recruitment which, in addition to other industry sectors, specialises in engineering recruitment.

Together as part of the Acorn Group, the company finds jobs for up to 5000 temps with more than 850 different clients each week, and also delivers training to more than 1,000 individuals and makes 1,500 permanent placements every year.
