A major industrial development which could bring more than 200 jobs to Stoke has attracted national interest.

LaSalle Investment Management (“LaSalle”), one of the world’s leading real estate investment managers, is creating Stoke 108, a 108,000 sq ft industrial warehouse complex at Prologis Park in the city.

The building on Prologis Park Sideway is due for completion in the summer and the company has had interest from national companies looking to set up a base in the city – as well as local companies who need to expand.

Local MP Jack Brereton was given a tour of the building as it nears completion and said the fact the company was developing the building without a tenant underlined the confidence in the local economy.

The Stoke-on-Trent South MP said: “This is an investment of around £10 million and a considerable vote of confidence in our area.

“As a growing economy it is vital that we have a pipeline of commercial sites which can satisfy the needs of both companies looking to relocate here and our local firms looking to expand.

“This will we help Stoke-On-Trent continue to prosper and create more jobs for our communities.

“The whole area where the new building sits has been transformed in recent years and is now a hive of commercial activity which is great to see.”

Stoke 108 has ground and first floor offices, a large secure yard, as well as staff parking and circulation areas for HGVs, making it suitable for the industrial or warehousing sectors

Edd Fitch, National Director at LaSalle Investment Management said: “We are aiming for completion in the summer and have had some strong interest. It is a really well positioned site – as evidenced by some of the neighbouring businesses which include Dunelm and Sainsbury’s – and there is a shortage of quality industrial stock.

“The links make this a strong location for many manufacturing industries and logistics occupiers, as well as the automotive supply chain and the development fits our strategy to increase our industrial assets.”

“We have been pleased with the level of interest and are working in taking those enquiries forward.”

Prologis Park Sideway is located east of Junction 15 of the M6 motorway, which provides access to the national motorway network. The M6 Motorway in turn links with the M6 Toll and M54 south of the property and M56 and M62 motorways to the north.

JLL and DTRE are acting as agents on the scheme.
