Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton’s Birmingham office has boosted its wealth advisory team with two senior appointments.

Lee Fellows has over 18 years’ experience in financial services, including several senior roles with High Street banks followed by wealth management advisory positions at Heartwood Investment Management, a subsidiary of Handelsbanken, and most recently as a wealth management consultant at Arthur J Gallagher in Birmingham. His role at Grant Thornton includes advising individual and corporate clients on a wide range of issues including retirement planning, investments, inheritance tax and succession planning.

Rob Deaves joins Grant Thornton from Santander in Leamington Spa where he was a senior financial planning manager. Beginning his financial career in 2001 with HSBC, Deaves joined RBS in Wolverhampton in 2014 where he widened his experience through the provision of commercial financial advice to limited companies, partnerships and the self-employed. His new role will involve providing bespoke financial advice to individuals, businesses and trusts across the Midlands.

David Hillan, practice leader at Grant Thornton in Birmingham, said: “Lee and Rob’s appointments demonstrate our continued investment in the regional senior team and enable us to build on the firm’s growing wealth advisory practice. They both possess high levels of technical skill and expertise plus a real desire to understand clients’ financial ambitions. Armed with that knowledge they will then help those clients to build, protect or realise their wealth.”
