Influx of global tenants ensures Birchwood Park ends year on top

PATRIZIA UK, the manager of Warrington’s leading business destination, Birchwood Park, has announced that more than 130,000 sq ft of office space has been let across the park in 2017. The figures mark a 20 per cent increase on the already impressive total office lettings for 2016.

The number of international companies on the park has been bolstered by high profile lettings to the likes of Ricoh, Dr Schär, Tata Consultancy Group and Cavendish Nuclear in the last 12 months. Global firms continue to be attracted by the park’s strong wellbeing focus, accessibility and car parking options.

A major highlight for 2017 was the completed letting of the park’s speculative mixed-use development: Cavendish Avenue. BiSN and Bathgate Group snapped up respective 22,000 and 13,965 sq ft units that offer a unique combination of warehouse and office space, and fall within the Cheshire Science Corridor Enterprise Zone.

Martin O’Rourke, commercial director at Birchwood Park, said: “The North West is attracting some of the biggest and best businesses in the world and quite rightly so with the strength of both our long standing and emerging sectors. We’re proud to say Birchwood Park remains a location of choice for those companies looking to set up a base in the region, especially given Birchwood’s thriving nuclear cluster.”

The park now has a total occupancy rate of 96 per cent.

Martin continued: “We’re celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2018 and enter the year feeling confident it will be another successful one. With 700,000 sq ft of development land with outline planning consent on the park, and the means to support businesses looking to grow; there is huge potential here for startups, SMEs and global corporates.”
