Big Yellow Self Storage to build at SEGRO Park Bracknell

SEGRO plc (‘SEGRO’) has sold a two acre site to Big Yellow Self Storage who, subject to planning, will build a self-storage facility.

The Big Yellow Self Storage site is part of the 13 acres that SEGRO bought from BMW in 2015, which is now known as SEGRO Park Bracknell.

Located on Ellesfield Avenue, SEGRO Park Bracknell is less than a mile from the A329 (M) that connects the M3 and M4 motorways. It offers easy access to the road networks – ideal for distribution companies and those who need to be close to their customers and a highly skilled labour supply to meet their demands.

Dave Potter, Head of Acquisition at Big Yellow, said:

“SEGRO Park Bracknell is a high profile, strategically located development opportunity for Big Yellow Self Storage. Bracknell fits very well within our existing network of trading stores and benefits from a fast growing population and an excellent range of large scale employers. Once built and trading, this facility will help us continue with our rapid expansion throughout the major towns and cities in the UK. We look forward to securing planning consent during the coming year and working alongside SEGRO in this highly desirable location.”

As well as selling the two acre site to Big Yellow Self Storage, SEGRO has been developing a 90,000 sq ft unit which is on track to complete in December 2017 and is available to let.

The remaining sites on SEGRO Park Bracknell offer the flexibility to Design and Build new industrial space up to a total of 185,000 sq ft with detailed planning granted for two units of 60,000 and 31,000 sq ft.

Paul Lewis, Regional Director for the Thames Valley and Data Centres, said:

“We are pleased to welcome Big Yellow Self Storage to SEGRO Park Bracknell, as it is an excellent location and well positioned to service the growing needs of their business. We are also very excited at the great progress of the development of the 90,000 sq ft unit which is nearing practical completion and will be ready to let shortly.”

Bracknell is already home to Waitrose headquarters, Boehringer Ingelheim, a world leading pharmaceutical company, and Fujitsu, a leading provider of IT products and services for the global marketplace.
