Spotlight on Pinsent Masons’ impressive new city HQ

Birmingham’s landmark office building 55 Colmore Row, which has been transformed by a £30 million redevelopment, will come under the spotlight when it hosts a tour by members of the British Council for Offices (BCO).

International law firm Pinsent Masons became the building’s first new tenant when it relocated from The Wesleyan Building recently, taking two floors of office space.

The company will host a tour of its impressive new offices and the building, explaining the journey the company underwent to complete the move and discussing the office design brief.

The tour will take place on Wednesday, November 8, from 5pm, at 55 Colmore Row, ending with refreshments and the opportunity to network.

Global property consultancy Savills is the second high profile name in the city to sign up to 55 Colmore Row, agreeing a 15-year lease on 16,956 sq ft, taking the entire top floor.

The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has also taken space at 55 Colmore Row and will now occupy the building’s fifth floor.

IM Properties’ vision to create London-style offices in Birmingham is clearly paying off, with the property company attracting the largest occupiers known to be in the market for new Birmingham headquarters.

Rob Groves, of property developer Argent and chairman of the BCO’s Midlands and East Anglia committee, said: “55 Colmore Row is a very well known building which has been completely transformed by Midlands based IM Properties into a very impressive Grade A offices right in the heart of the city’s central business district. This should be a fascinating event and one not to be missed.

“Pinsent Masons’ team will provide a great insight into the complexities of completing a major relocation.”

National fit out and refurbishment specialist Overbury delivered the fit out of the 40,000 sq ft office space on behalf of Pinsent Masons. It created an open office arrangement for its workforce, an impressive meeting suite and a new staff restaurant while the installation of bespoke joinery created a unique finish.
