Growing firm Star expands into the West Midlands

A fast-growing firm providing on-demand cloud computing and communication services to UK businesses has expanded into the Midlands at Blythe Valley Business Park.

Star has opened its sixth UK base at Cornwall House on the business park off Junction 4 of the M42.

The company has offices in Gloucester, London, Bristol, Manchester and Theale and is currently experiencing significant revenue growth.

Matt Leighton has been brought in by Star to head up the new Midlands office, where around ten staff will be based.

“Star has established a strong brand reputation for being one of the leading IT and communications services providers in the UK,” he said.

“We are now working with more than 2,750 UK business customers and around 250,000 users. The launch of the new Midlands office is the latest stage of the planned growth of the business and I look forward to welcoming new customers to Star and providing them with local support.

“The new office sits well within the network of our data centres and bases across the country giving us the opportunity to showcase our capabilities to potential customers and existing clients alike. It will also provide a great central location for our regional teams to meet.”

Star, which employs around 240 people across the UK, has created four new jobs with the opening of the 2,000 sq ft office at Blythe Valley Park and is expecting to add to its team over the coming months.

Matt added: “We are really benefitting from the UK market’s take-up of cloud services and this is helping us to achieve our growth targets and the launch of the office at Blythe Valley Park is another milestone for the company to celebrate.

“We have ambitious growth plans and will certainly be looking to add to our team as we move towards hitting the next major milestones for Star.”

Kate Smith, from Liberty Property Trust UK, which develops and manages Blythe Valley Park in partnership with Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate, said Star is well placed to continue its expansion from the park.

“Star is certainly a shining light in the UK IT and communications sector and has enjoyed significant growth over the last 14 years,” she said.

“The opening of a new base in the West Midlands is the next stage of Star’s expansion and we’re delighted they’ve chosen to join us on the park.

“Cloud computing has become a massive industry in recent years and Star has established itself as a major player and we look forward to supporting their growth.”

Blythe Valley Park is set in 257 acres, which includes a countryside park, and is home to companies such Kier, Caterpillar and Arup.
