Workman takes entire floor at The Observatory, Manchester

Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd (USS) has leased 7,096 sq ft at The Observatory, Manchester to Workman, the largest independent commercial property management and building consultancy firm in the UK. Workman has occupied the entirety of the third floor at the city centre office scheme.

Recent investment in the building has brought forward well sized, open-plan floorplates overlooking St Ann’s Square. The modern building is located close to the retail and leisure heart of Manchester, only a moments’ walk from Manchester Arndale shopping centre and Manchester Victoria station.

Only two floors in the nine storey scheme have space left available with 6,651 sq ft on the first floor and 4,451 sq ft on the second floor.

Rhys Evans, Office Agency Surveyor at GVA said: “The Observatory is a prominent office building in the heart of Manchester’s central business district. The enhanced refurbishment, the quality of the office space available and the location of the building have all added to the popularity and recent success of The Observatory.”

Richard Cooper, Partner at Workman and Head of Office commented: “Employing close to 100 people in Manchester the time is right to relocate to larger and modern premises. We undertook extensive consultation with our teams to ensure the location and office environment met the needs of our growing workforce.”

USS was advised by GVA and Savills.
