Shoosmiths advises on entire life-cycle of award-winning London mixed-use scheme

Real estate experts from national law firm Shoosmiths have advised Citygrove Securities PLC and its subsidiary Albemarle Developments Limited throughout the lifecycle of re-developing The Old Dairy, an award-winning mixed use scheme in South Ruislip which officially opened its Cinema this week.

The mixed-use scheme – which recently won the RICS Award for Regeneration – comprises of 162 residential properties, a Cineworld cinema, an Asda foodstore and family-themed restaurants and will create c.536 jobs and a new heart of South Ruislip.

Specialists from across Shoosmiths’ national real estate team provided expertise and advice to Citygrove throughout the project’s lifecycle. The team was led by real estate partners, Steve Wiltshire and Alex Jones with support from real estate associate, Brain West; construction senior associate Heidi Brennan and planning senior associate, Matthew Stimpson.

Toby Baines from Citygrove, said: ‘Shoosmiths provided us with excellent advice from the very start – having a legal team that has strength and depth in various real estate specialisms have helped us to get the project over the line.’

‘Watching the scheme take shape from the derelict site we saw at the beginning to a place where the local community can enjoy their leisure time is highly rewarding, and winning the RICS Awards for Regeneration was the icing on the cake.’

Shoosmiths’ Steve Wiltshire, added: ‘We are very proud of the part we have played, advising Citygrove on this award-winning and transformational mixed use scheme and hope to work on a similar project with Citygrove again in the future.’

On the 2nd November 2017 at the RICS Grand Final Awards in London The Old Dairy will go up against other Regeneration award winners from around the country to compete for the National Regeneration Award.
