Mental health charity Gofal benefit from R&M Williams expansion

Gofal, South Wales-based mental health charity, advised by DLP Surveyors, have recently let part of their office accommodation in Swansea to a long established construction company.

The letting at Beaufort House, Plasmarl, Swansea, has been agreed with R&M Williams Ltd. who are to use the office accommodation in support of their many contracts in the Swansea area. R&M Williams, who have recently completed their 50 th anniversary, leased c.2,000 sq.ft. on a new 3 year lease at an annual rental rising to £18,000 pa.

Matthew Cole of Gofal commented, “As a charity, we are always looking at ways in which we can attract additional funding to support our charitable work. Having worked closely with our property advisor Michael Bruce of DLP Surveyors he recommended we look into how the charity could work ‘smarter’ and use our own workspace more productively.

Following an internal rationalisation programme we were able to reduce the amount of office accommodation from which we can successfully operate with the result of creating overspill floor-space.

With DLP Surveyors help and assistance we have been able to ‘sweat’ our existing property asset through leasing this ‘surplus’ floor area, thereby creating an additional and valuable income stream for the charity. As such we are delighted to have secured long-established construction company R&M Williams Ltd. as a reputable tenant.”

Allen Evans of R&M Williams Ltd. commented, “We required additional office accommodation in the Swansea area to support our growing client and contract base in the region, and see Beaufort House as the ideal base to develop our greatly increased workloads in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

We are delighted to have been able to agree new lease terms with Gofal who, as landlords, have been exceptionally professional and helpful in assisting us fulfill our occupational needs. We are also particularly pleased to have struck up a relationship with such a well known charity such as Gofal and we hope to be able to develop and nurture this bond even further.”

R&M Williams Ltd. are particularly active in the Swansea area and are currently involved in the Urban Village Scheme in High Street where they are continuing on the 3 rd phase of the development until 2018.

Other projects include continuing a large kitchen and bathroom framework with Swansea City Council, and a doctors surgery under construction at Mayhill (which is due for completion later in the year).
