Welsh Aluminium firm begin work on One Canal Parade

Cardiff-based aluminium fabricator Dudley’s Aluminium has secured a major contract to help develop the new One Canal Parade office development in the heart of Cardiff.

The company has secured a contract with BECT Building Contractors, in excess of £900k, to install the Kawneer curtain walling façade of the six storey office building, as well as state-of-the-art windows, smoke vents and revolving doors at the entranceway.

One Canal Parade, which is scheduled for completion next May, is located adjacent to Cardiff and Vale College’s new £50m campus site and is the latest property development by Rightacres.

The 58,000 sq ft grade A office space will house hundreds of jobs and stands as testament to the influx of interest in the Welsh capital as a centre for commerce, and further underlines the vibrancy of the capital’s commercial property sector.

Managing Director of Dudley’s, Colin Shorney said: “We are delighted to be a part of the construction of this state of the art office building in Cardiff’s City Centre. It will be a great addition to Cardiff’s burgeoning commerce sector and we are proud to be a part of the city’s development.”

In addition to One Canal Parade, Dudley’s have secured a number of high-profile contracts in Cardiff during the last 24 months. The company completed work at One Central Square earlier this year and are also due to begin work at the new BBC Cymru Wales HQ site in 2017.

Established in 1993 and based in Cardiff, Dudley’s Aluminium offers clients full in-house design and production facilities. It has completed many successful and prestigious education, health, commercial, retail and defence sector projects throughout the UK and the Channel Islands.
