The Real Estate team of Midlands law firm Lodders has made its second hire in two weeks, with real estate development solicitor Daniel MacLeod joining the team from Warwickshire firm Wright Hassall.

Earlier this month, Lodders announced that Mark Miller, the former head of Wright Hassall’s Real Estate Development team, has joined as an equity partner in its Real Estate team.

Daniel previously worked alongside Mark whilst at Wright Hassall. He joined the firm’s trainee programme in September 2013 and qualified into its Real Estate team in October last year.

Daniel lives in Leamington Spa and studied at Stratford upon Avon College, before completing his Law degree at Cardiff University and his Legal Practice Course, passing with Distinction.

Commenting on his new role at Lodders, Daniel said: “Lodders has an impressive and strong real estate offering where I can develop further my experience and continue my professional development.

“The move to Lodders allows me not only to continue working with Mark Miller on our strategic land and renewables work in particular, but also to join a team that includes some of the region’s best commercial property legal advisers.”

Lodders Real Estate team acts for national and regional commercial property developers, residential property developers, house builders, investment companies and funders.

Partner and head of the team, Paul Mourton specialises in property investment and development, primarily acting for high net worth individuals and family-owned property companies across the UK.  He adds:

“Both Daniel and Mark are key strategic additions to the Real Estate team, bringing skills and expertise that complement our existing work with many of the region’s largest property companies as well as bringing their combined experience specialising in negotiating large-scale strategic land development matters on behalf of landowners.”

Celebrating its 230th anniversary this year, Lodders has 25 partners, a portfolio of sector and market specific legal teams, over 130 fee earners and support staff across its office network, and has recorded year-on-year growth in recent years.
