Ian Stringer, Regional Senior Director for Bilfinger GVA’s Midlands office.

Leading UK real estate advisory firm Bilfinger GVA announces a marked rise in turnover to more than £190 million, and a 38 per cent rise in annualised operating profit before exceptional items for the year to 31 December 2015.

Bilfinger GVA’s accounts, which were submitted to Companies House last week, illustrate how revenues increased by nine per cent (or circa £16 million) to £190 million, up from £174 million the previous year*.

The company’s Midlands office, which is based in Brindleyplace in Birmingham and employs 398 staff, saw turnover exceed a record-breaking £26m.

Ian Stringer, Regional Senior Director in the Midlands, said: “These figures represent the culmination of a truly outstanding year for us as a business and reflects the positive and industrious attitude that has been evident across the Midlands.

“Confidence in the region continues to rise, partly on the back of Devolution but with a host of large-scale infrastructure projects in the pipeline such as the first phase of HS2, significant extension to the Metro system and the recently announced investment strategy for Birmingham Airport which will have a significant effect on the Midlands as a whole. These projects offer huge associated regeneration potential in the built environment.

“As a region, we need to ensure that we have the right building stock available to meet the levels of interest that we’re seeing both from inward investors and indigenous occupiers seeking alternative accommodation in the industrial, commercial and retail and leisure sectors.

“Housing delivery in the region remains a key priority to address pipeline growth as the economy of the West Midlands continues to grow to projected levels over the next 10 to 15 years.”

In the Midlands, Bilfinger GVA provides services to some of the region’s highest profile and most significant real estate projects, including the mixed use Friargate development in Coventry, Birmingham’s Arena Central, Paradise and Eastside Locks, and major proposed regeneration schemes at Curzon and Peddimore.

Bilfinger GVA remains the number one provider of real estate services to the public sector. Its Midlands Office is also the largest and most diverse real estate advisory services firm outside of the capital.
