Colliers International further strengthens North West of England rating team

Real estate advisor Colliers International has appointed Sophie Attwood to further strengthen the breadth and depth of specialist talent offered by its market leading rating team in the North West of England.

In the latest senior hire by Colliers in the region, Sophie joins the rating team at the firm’s Liverpool office as an associate. She will also assist the Manchester office rating team, working alongside director of rating Adam Burke, associate director Edward Stanley and graduate Oliver Potts.

She joins Colliers from the Liverpool office of property consultants Dunlop Heywood where she held the post of associate director, rating and head of office.

Sophie’s extensive experience in rating includes casework settlement, presenting cases at valuation tribunal, market rent valuations and reduction of rates liabilities for businesses including Peel Investments (UK), Peel Ports Group, Pure Gym, Anytime Fitness, NewRiver Retail, Speedy Hire and The Money Shop.

She graduated with BA (Hons) in geography from the University of Liverpool and subsequently completed a master’s degree (MSc) in commercial property management at Liverpool John Moores University.

Sophie said: “While based at the Liverpool office of Colliers International, I look forward to working with the rating team at both Liverpool and Manchester offices for clients throughout the North West of England and nationwide.

“My appointment reflects the commitment of Colliers to growing its Liverpool office headed by director Andy Delaney and to ensuring clients benefit from the specialist services and collective expertise of the best rating team in commercial property ahead of the draft rating list being published in September and the actual list taking effect on 1st April 2017.”

Adam Burke added: “Sophie’s appointment will give further confidence to businesses which will need best-in-class business rates advice and assistance to mount an appeal in the coming months.”

Other recent high-profile appointments by Colliers in the North West of England included Dominic Pozzoni joining as a director to head the firm’s seven-strong Manchester National Offices team, working closely with established directors Michael Hawkins and Peter Gallagher.
